I Know My Savior Lives
Vocal Solo
Arranged by Craig Petrie
Lyrics by Johnny Barron. A song which portrays the experiences of the Christmas shepherds, Jairus (whose daughter was raised from the dead), and Mary Magdelene with the Savior and their resulting testimonies and rejoicing. Especially appropriate for Christmas or Easter.
To shepherds near Bethlehem
Declared an angel unto them,
"Good tidings of great joy I bring,
Of our Redeemer's birth I sing."
The shepherds went and found the child
In a humble stable, sweet and mild.
They went to tell of what they saw
And to testify to all:
He's here! He's here!
I saw his face.
His glory shone around the place
Where he lay, the child, the holy babe.
He's here, the world to save.
To Jesus came an urgent plea
On a crowded street in Galilee,
"My child has died, but come and lay
Thy hand on her, I pray."
Said Jesus, "There's no need to weep,
She is not dead but only sleeps."
He raised the young girl from the dead,
And the man went forth and said:
He's here! He's here!
I saw his face.
His glory shone around the place
Where he healed the sick, the dead he raised.
My daughter he has saved.
Great sorrow shone upon her face
As she found the empty burial place,
But her joy returned just as before,
When she saw the risen Lord,
"Mary, go and to my apostles, say
You've seen the risen Lord today."
She went to tell of what she saw
And to testify to all:
He's here! He's here!
I saw his face.
His glory shone around the place
Where he stood; come quick, your praises give.
He lives, our Savior lives!
He's here! He's here!
I saw his face.
His glory shone around the place
Where he stood; come quick, your praises give.
He lives, our Savior lives!
I know my Savior lives!
